From barn to beam we control the whole process to ensure a handcrafted heirloom product. Our beams are washed, bug treated and hand brushed to provide a clean and timeless product.

Hand Hewn White Oak

Historically white oak has been the bench mark for all timber frame construction from Europe to the Americas. When the early settlers arrived, they found virgin forest abound with towering white oak. The dense grain, rot resistance and bug resistance made it a desired species. Today its valued for its consistent color, grain structure and strength. Hand Hewn, Original Surface Sawn and Re-sawn options.

Rich brown tones and heavy hewn marks are a trademark of softwood timbers. Old growth hemlock and white pine were the timbers of choice. There lighter weight and trueness make them a great alternative to hardwoods.

Re-sawn Hemlock

Dense virgin hemlock forest once covered a large portion of the northeastern United States. As the industrial revolution powered along the demand for hemlock timbers increased. Millions of hemlock trees were stripped of their precious bark for use in the tannery industry and milled for lumber.

Valued for its rot and insect resistance as well as long straight timbers the hemlock was used consistently in barn construction.

Mixed Hardwood Hand Hewn
